Here is a look at what is happening worldwide with electric cars and related topics.
- GM Working On Cadillac Converj. Good news from GM who is committing working on the nicer looking Cadillac Converj using the same Voltec platform as the Volt, according to DVice. Why is this good news? Putting all your bets on the eventual success of one car, i.e. the Volt is downright reckless. Developing another one with a different brand is downright smart, especially with the Cadillac brand which GM will be able to sell for more. Last piece of good news, the Converj will retain its dazzling original look, unlike the let down from the original Volt to the current iteration. Kudos GM.
- Mitsubishi, After Peugeot, Now Citroen. We might not see the wonderful Citroen ev’ie after all, but Mitsubishi is extending its technology to Citroen for its C-Zero after Peugeot got a stab at it with its iOn, according to GreenAutoBlog. The gist? It will be a Citroen branded iMiEV, much as the iOn will be.
- FedEx Buys Hybrids. FedEx just acquired 51 gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles from Azure Dynamics, according to TradingMarkets. This bumps up their hybrid fleet to total 325. A lot more to go.
- Hyundai Also Subscribes To The “range anxiety” Motto. Looks like GM got to Hyundai with the over used excuse of “range anxiety”, according to WardAuto (subscription required). Hyundai does not, hopefully only yet, believe in long range electric vehicles, EV. And just what is long rage anyway?
That’s it for now. Stay tuned for more.
