After a few month in stealth mode, Aptera is coming back into the news.
The gist is that many wondered what had happened to Aptera. Had it gone bust without even getting its intriguing three-wheeled vehicles into production? Were they working on a battery management system and switching to the battery game instead? Or were they just quietly working away, waiting on funds? Aptera will say the latter though we might see interesting news from the company in the following months.
Producing The Aptera. Aptera is announcing that it is still ready to go into full production of its electric vehicles, EV and plug-in hybrids, PHEV by next year, according to San Diego, U.S. 10News channel.
Producing The Aptera. The Aptera Vista plant in southern California expects its production lines to be running at full speed by next summer, hire 300 employees and at first assemble a few thousand Apteras. Following that, 2012 will see an increase in production thanks in part to a $25 billion loan program from the U.S. Department of Energy called the Advanced Technology Vehicle Program. Aptera will receive a $75 million in loans from that program that will help its staff grow to 3,000 and produce 100,000 Apteras a year, instead of only a few.
So there you go, consipracists and secret hand shake lovers. The company was only fighting to get a piece of the action from an administration that is determined to revive competition in the U.S..

Well, that is some good news.
Because this might well be the ‘beetle’ of the 21 century.
It looks good, it runs beautifully and to be honest, We, on the other side of the ocean
are definately interested in the Aptera.
If they need a downpayment, they can get it immediately.

Hi JJ, we like the Beetle of the 21st Century idea and it makes sense to see the Aptera as such. It revolutionary in many ways. It does away with conventional aerodynamics and is a glimpse into how private vehicles will look like in the near future.
On which side of the pond are you? Europe? We are not sure where Aptera stands as far as distribution abroad. In one sense, it would be a good idea to distribute their EVs in Europe before the US market.
