- OnStar To Help GM With Volt. Interesting findings OnStar system found for the Volt, 35% of the time they would run all day in electric mode, while some would use the gas engine some of the time, which differs from the Census Bureau findings from a 2002 survey of household travel showing 78% of Americans drive 40 miles a day or less, according to ConsumerReport.
- Honda CR-Z Hybrid. Everyone is awaiting the Honda CR-Z, which in one sense looks like a modernized version of the original Insight. The numbers are pretty good also, 32 to 35MPG, according to Wired.

Looking For Something Different? How about the unique eRingoEV? Straight from a Sci Fi movie, this concept is a rolling wheel that tilts in corners and designed by Mohammed Gheze, via Inhabitat. Why is it important? Frankly said, four wheels in a rectangular fashion is not the most stable platform but a wheel once in motion is.
- Duke Energy’s FPL Group. Duke Energy will buy 10,000 electric vehicles, EVs and plug-in hybrids, PHEVs in the coming decade, according to CleanTechBlog. Why is this important? Short of the impressive number, it also sends a clear message that utilities are opening the fray into the EV world.
That’s it for now. Stay tuned for more.
