- Raser Technologies, Turning To Energy Production. Raser Technologies who showed a Hummer could sport a 2L gas engine in a plug-in hybrid, PHEV format is now turning its attention to geo-thermal energy production, according to this Seeking Alpha update. Its Lightning Dock No. 1 geothermal project received its final approval from the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division (OCD) for injection of geothermal fluids.
- Nova Scotia Turns Alternative Energy Producer Friendly. Independent energy producers in Nova Scotia sigh relief after the Dexter government announced a delay of the province’s green energy plan that threatened them and Nova Scotia Power with potential fines, according to the ChronicalHerald. The gist, the province announced a change in its 2007 renewable electricity regulation that adds a year to the deadline that required Nova Scotia Power to obtain 5% of its electricity from renewable sources by Dec. 31, 2010. It now has until Dec. 31, 2011, to meet that target.
- China Ahead U.S. In Wind Turbine Production. Wind turbines in China where for the last 4 years it has doubled its wind energy capacity and is set to overtake the U.S. as the world’s top manufacturer, according to VOANews.
