An Electric Car Daily Jolt

Here is a look at what is happening with electric cars and its broader implication on industries.
  • ETV Motors & The EPA.  Back to one of our favorite subject, you cannot rate an electric vehicle, EV or a plug-in hybrid, PHEV the same way we do with gas cars.  ETV Motors is sending its set of suggestion to the EPA that would be a good starting block, according to Cars.  The standard would include a number that says how far the car can go on a single battery charge, another showing how energy intensive the battery pack is and a final number that says how much gas the car will consume to drive its generator after the battery charge is depleted.
  • Los Angeles To San Francisco, An Electric Corridor.  Many electric charging stations are being installed on the busy Los Angeles San Francisco corridor, according to the DailyTechSolarCity has announced that it has installed 5 charging stations that will charge the Tesla Roadster to full capacity in 3.5 hours along highway 101 between San Francisco and Los Angeles.  Now you have an excuse to take your time and digest.
  • EV World In Court.  News of Tesla settling the Eberhard outside of court filing this week, according to BNET.  Both kissed and made up saying: “I’m glad that we could put this behind us and direct all our energy toward making Tesla one of the great car companies of the 21st century,” (CEO Elon Musk), describing Eberhard’s contribution as “indispensable,” while Eberhard returned the favor by describing Musk as “extraordinary.”  But wait, there is more.  Bricklin takes Chinese EV and hybrid maker Chery to court claiming the automaker entered into an agreement with Bricklin’s V Cars (then Visionary Vehicles) but broke the deal and stole intellectual property.  A new industry starting to act like the old ones...
That's it for now.  Stay tuned for more.
