Electric Ford Focus Gets Celebrities

There is little stopping Ford this year with a renewed car portfolio and the ever advancing Ford Fusion hybrid, electric Ford Focus and Transit.

The gist is that so far, Ford is doing the right things at the right time while its local competitors are still licking their wounds.  So far Ford is basking in the positive reviews around its Fusion hybrid.  It has not abandoned the electric Ford Focus we mentioned a while back with its Magna partner and of course the electric Transit.

The Electric Focus Get Celebrities.  And what better way than to add a glimmer of star mania to an upcoming product?  Sept. 18, Drew Barrymore will race the all electric Ford Focus with Jay Leno, another car collector.  Bringing those two celebrities is a touch of marketing genius as Leno is widely hailed as a car guy with a substantial collection, while Barrymore… well, who does not know Drew Barrymore?  Nothing brings to public attention a car company sponsored race, can you think Ferrari Cup Challenge?

But Wait, There Is More.  And if the campaign works well, why not extend the concept?  During the year, more celebrities will compete for lap times in the electric Focus, which kinds of scream; “Top Gear”!

All in all, a great idea as Ford knows it has a few very good products lined up as well as upcoming green cars in the shape and form of the electric Focus and Transit.  Good job.
