Electric Vehicles Renewable Energy and Storage News

As companies race forward to the promise of a cleaner and brighter tomorrow using the electric drive, one thing is for certain, consumers will benefit if they do not lose interest.

  • Wind Turbines Take To The Sea.  StatoilHydro has been drilling for oil and gas the past 30 years, but things are changing.  It has constructed the world’s first full-scale floating wind turbine a couple of hours by catamaran from the oil town Stavanger, in the hope that one day vast wind farms could be constructed far offshore in water depths of up to 700m, according to the BBC.
  • Is BYD Looking For Chinese Government Funds? Up until now BYD could pride itself as having received no funds from its government but things could change as it seeks government support for hybrid sales after selling 31 of its F3DM plug-ins nationwide in the first seven months of the year, according to Bloomberg.  The problem?  People think they can buy two cheap gas cars for the price of an electric vehicle, EV.
  • Reva Launches New Cars.  On Wednesday 16th September, Reva will unveil two new EVs, according to Reuters.  The NXR will have 4 seats and 3 doors, while the NXG will be a sportier 2 seater.
