The never resting world of electric vehicles, EV and its sibling, the green life is moving on, replacing a well worn out business model that never worked to the advantage of the environment.

  • Better Place turns To The Public For Ideas.  A very smart move on Better Place‘s behalf by opening a contest to the public to find appealing solution for tomorrow’s EV infrastructure, according to DesignTrainingBetter Place won the INDEX: Design to Improve Life Award and received about  $140,000 a contest that will ask entrants to help design products incorporated to the EV fueling infrastructure Better Place has invented, but will allow the consumer to fuel their vehicles hands-free.  We will find out more by October.
  • California Smart Charging Going Forward California Energy Commission awarded close to $8 million to Electric Transportation Engineering Corporation, eTec to support the deployment of charge infrastructure in the San Diego region, according to TMCnet. The project will deploy up to 2,550 charging stations in the San Diego area.
  • Ener1 Invests In Think.  Think has turned around quite well after a close call a few months ago and Ener1, Inc, the parent company of EnerDel, has invested $47 million into it, according to James Rickman over on Seeking Alpha.
  • Bright Idea, 150,000 On The Road Soon? If all goes well, Bright wants to build a manufacturing facility, operational late 2012 to make 50,000 IDEAs a year with a little help from the government, according to AutoBlogGreen.  It is good to see innovative nimble start ups sprinting ahead.
