The dust never settles on the revamped electric drive industry.

  • EIG and FEV Working Together.  FEV develops powertrain and will work with EIG on a hybrid, HEV with a 21kW-h Li-Ion battery pack, according to AutomotiveBusinessReview.
  • Ford Thinking About V2G And V2H.  If V2G is a powerful enabler for utilities and vehicle to home, V2H would be a great tool for drivers.  However Ford is being cautious about its use but according to AP, Ford is working with utilities to see how they could integrate the technology.
  • GridPoint Smart Charging 3.0 Is Ready.  It was announced last week at the Plug In 2009 that GridPoint is ready to offer its Smart Charging 3.0 to utilities.
  • Trabant Second Life As An EV? interesting news from AllCarsElectric reporting that ex-East Germany iconic Trabant could come back as an EV. IndiKar and Herpa, who own the name Trabant plan on using it for their EV.
  • BYD Manufacturers Batteries For Chinese Companies.  Another Ka Ching moment for BYD who announced it has penned a deal to produce batteries for one of China’s top three auto groups to supply the automaker with lithium-ion batteries for hybrid vehicle productions, according to Gasgoo.
