What is the DuraCar Quicc Diva

So many electric vehicles, EV, so many brands to follow and here is one from Holland.

The gist is that the proliferation of EVs around the globe makes it challenging to keep abreast of everything out there.  There is not a week that goes by without the introduction of one or the breakthrough of a lithium battery.  Our interest was picked when we saw pictures of the Quicc by DuraCar.

EV Looking Car.  As with most EVs, the Quicc looks like… an EV.  The Quicc is a city and intra-city traffic, whose design and building rests on light electrically powered plastic cars.  While this might not appeal to the performance minded folk, these types of cars make plenty of sense as city commuters.

Technically Speaking.  Not a neighborhood electric vehicle, NEV as this Quicc might appear to be since its speed is limited to 120kmh, about 75mph, plenty for highway driving.  It has a range of 150 km, of about 94 miles and has a 50 kW max electric motor, coupled to a 288 V battery pack.  A full recharge is 8 hours, we assume on a 220 Volt plug.  The total weight is 1.5 ton, fully loaded.

It is easy to understand why this vehicle makes sense, it has enough cargo to please a local small shop and company.  It makes sense as a daily driver for most people.  Only one caveat, it is not imported in the U.S..  Hopefully, it will be soon.  In the meantime, you can lease it in Europe.
