A lot is happening again on the electric vehicle, EV front with hybrid buses, green giant data centers, etc.

  • Google Powered By H2OGoogle has been following a green trend since early on and news of it using the Niagara Falls to generate 90% of the energy for its servers.  The center will use 100% outside air to cool the servers, via EcoGeek.
  • Lightning Hybrids, LH4.  The prototype is becoming a reality as Lightning Hybrids is readying its LH4.  It will get 100 mpg and 0 to 60 in less than 6secs, via Wired.  As far as the Corvette inspired?  We will let you decide.
  • Sweet Hybrid Silence, Short Lived? One of the beauty of an alternative energy vehicle is its relative silence, a concern invoked by people with disabilities that might not sense them approaching.  Japan is considering forcing hybrids, HEV to make noise, via AFP.
  • Electric VW By 2013.  If the Germans have been a tad slow embracing the electric drive, it can also be due to their pragmatism that once they put out a product, it is of good quality.  Apparently, VW who has long denied the feasibility of EVs, is no planning one for 2013, according to PhysOrg.
  • Official Barefoot Motors Opening.  After a successful TTXGP race, Barefoot Motors is now opening a its doors with a $12,000 Model One electric Earth Utility Vehicle, an ATV that puts out 40hp with speeds of up to 30mph, via AutoBlogGreen.
