We love old cars and as much as we feel that sacreligeous pit in our stomach thinking of a classic car turned hybrid, a team called Intertia Motors has replaces the 289 cubic-inch V8 engine with a twin-cylinder Kubota engine generator running on biodiesel charging a dozen lead acid batteries. The good is that they are thinking about a production series. The alternative Studebaker Avanti should be good for 120 mph with a range of 100 miles per initial charge while averaging over 100 miles per gallon thereafter, according to AutoBlogGreen.
