Electric Cars, Getting Closer

So far the one electric vehicle, EV that looks very promising both technologically and economically is Nissan’s EV-02.  At around $20,000, this car will be a winner.

  • Long Beach California, 50% Hybrid Fleet.  Well, almost but the city of Long Beach is not stopping its effort to keep it greenest north American fleet title.  According to GreenCarCongress, the city just added 25 new hybrid buses.
  • European Cars Smaller, U.S. Bigger.  It doesn’t take much to figure what went wrong with the U.S. auto industry.  In the past decades, French cars got smaller and logically more fuel efficient.  U.S. cars followed the exact opposite with the current dire results.  Source: AutoBlogGreen.
  • Ingenuous Wind Turbine Add On.  It’s fantastic to see what bright minds can come up with.  Apparently a donut shape at the foot of a wind turbine can add up to 30% efficiency, according to EcoGeek.
  • Diesel Hybrids, A Citroen Take.  Unfortunately, in the U.S. we won’t see diesel hybrids any time soon.  Too bad because the economy is great.  Citroen‘s Hypnos is a good example of that and beautiful design.  Source: TimesOnline.
  • Hybrid Is Yesterday’s Technology.  According to San Francisco Mayor, Gavin News on NewsWeek.  The answer?  Pure electric, of course.  As if you doubted it.
  • Nissan EV-02 Praise. Moore praise for the Nissan EV-02 from DetNews this time.
  • SkyVolt Anyone?  Here is a nice rendering of the SkyVolt, if it ever happened, from AutoBlogGreen.  Not bad.

That’s it for now.  Stay tuned for more.
