A wide Spectrum Of News Around The Electric Car

No lack of news today again.  With the merger nearer a solution between Chrysler and Fiat, we see a glimpse of hope to have small and fuel efficient cars in the U.S./  Finally more and more research and development is being made with alternative energy, all pointing to a better future.

  • Chrysler Fiat Merger Nearing A Solution.  As you might have heard, Chrysler is up at the 11′th hour, now past and is closer to inking a deal with FIAT.  What will this do?  Allow Chrysler to use Fiat’s small and efficient fuel vehicle technology and Fiat to use Chrysler’s assets to bring it’s cars into the U.S..
  • Smart Grid 101.  A great article from Inhabitat on what is a smart grid, anyways?  Maybe you haven’t read our posts here?
  • Give AFS Trinity A Chance.  At least that’s what the company wants by asking for another $40 million from the DoE, according to EcoNinja.  What would that money be used for?  Mass production of 150 mpg hybrid SUV.
  • Volt Prototype Hits The Road.  Another company eager to prove it is worth salvaging is GM and the news is that a Volt prototype is finally hitting the road, according to USNews.
  • First Four Electric Four Seater Car In The UK.  And it’s a Citroen, a C1 to be exact that has the high hopes of going head to head wit the electric Mini, according to the BBC.  Our thoughts?  Why not?
  • Spain, Solar Energy Leader.  Looks like the government funds are panning out for Spain as it makes breakthrough in concentrating solar rays to super heat water, according to the Guardian.
