Electric Cars Swamp News

As news of electric vehicles, EV continue to swamp the media outlets, much is happening behind the scenes as far as innovations, policies and financial restructuring of companies.

  1. Why Mess With A Nice Design? The beautiful Cadillac Converj prototype might suffer the same fate the original Volt and might get an extra set of doors, which begs us to ask why mess with such a nice design to start with?  AutomobileMag.  GM hasn’t learned from its Volt blunder and has introduced another well received concept whose final product will not look like it.  When will they learn?  In the meantime, it seems they are befriending ESStor, according to EcoGeek.
  2. Ford And The EV.  Ford is talking the talk, but are they walking the walk?  According to DETNews, they are continuing to work on their EV project.
  3. SunPower, Money Power.  Apparently, SunPower is an attractive investment for Todd Pitcher at Seeking Alpha.  We feel a few alternative companies will do very well this year as they establish themselves, with hopefully less hype and more concrete results.
  4. Telegraph, iMiEV, Insight & HydroGen4.  Interesting test drive the Telegraph did comparing those 3 vehicles.  Very fait and unbiased.
  5. PHEV Awareness In Schools.  Nothing better than to enlighten our young souls to what they will be driving in the future, and with this article from the RuthlandHerald that introduced students to hybrids, HEV and PHEVs.
  6. More Green Investment For World Economy.  At least this is what a report released by the World Economic Forum during its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, according to CleanTechBrief.
  7. Wagoner Yesterday On Today.  Interesting to see Wagoner explain how the low rate loans from tax payers are being used by GM.  MLive.

A lot of moving around, a lot of debating but until we get back to what makes us strong, hard work and innovations, we could get caught in endless cycles of rhetoric and ideas.
