Electric Vehicles Renewable Energy and Storage News

Sometimes the news innundates us with stories from around the globe on companies and smart startups with great ideas.  Some weeks, as last week was ripe with electric vehicle, EV news.

The Electric American Jeep, Or Sorta.  Have you ever heard of Project Green Leaf?  We didn’t think so.  With 60 miles range, about 50 cents per charge and 50 mph, the LHS EV says their Project Green Leaf eletric vehiclewants to be your next EV and will look like a World War II Jeep.  Are we ready?  Of course, we are.

Better Place And AGL, Sitting In A Tree… Better Place announced an agreement with AGL Energy and financial advisor Macquarie Capital Group to raise $1 billion AUD and begin deploying an electric vehicle, EV network powered by renewable energy in Australia.  We like news like this.

Le Mans 24 Hour Race Welcomes Hybrid. This is very big news.  The Le Mans 24 hour race is one of the oldest and toughest race in the world.  All the biggest names raced there and to see that the venerable race is allowing hybrids is yet another step forward introducing hybrids in the minds of people while showing their performance.  That means the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP “Hy” will race there next year.
