Cars And Coffee Zoom Zoom Road

Some of use were fortunate enough to have made last week’s Cars and Coffee on the road made famous by the Nissan Zoom Zoom road.  As usual, there were amazing cars and a little surprise.

The gist, the famous Zoom Zoom road from the Nissan commercial is actually a private road and open once a year to the Cars and Coffee crowd from Irvine, California.  It was not only fun but once up there, we were greeted with a surprise visit from the Tesla Roadster number 1.  Yes, Musk’s very own.

Note the Tesla’s recharge cord that goes to the smaller extension that eventually goes into the regular 110 extension?  Very funny.

We met Franz who is the designer for the upcoming S Sedan and Bluestar and had a great time chatting with him.  It was refreshing to see his enthusiasm for both upcoming cars.  So of course, what did we ask him?  What will they look like?  To this, he smiled, his eyes wandered off and he told that it will look really, really nice.  Moments like these, you just want to suspend time and let all the images rush to your mind.

What was intriguing was to hear car buffs who, over all really knew little of the Roadster.  Looks like we have a lot of work to do.  Most people’s eyes opened wide when we told them of the range and other technical specifications.  There were plenty of times we felt like asking them how come they knew so little of it.  Maybe Tesla should hire us as waking PR people.

Here is a video from last year’s turnout.
