AltExpo Los Angeles, California 2008

It was a very interesting day and at times memorable at the AltExpo.  It was great and is really getting better every year.

The gist, AltExpo lets manufacturers of alternative energy vehicles demonstrate their technology.  All the usual suspects were there, Pluginamerica.org, ACPropulsion, GM’s Volt also as well as many other start ups and even an incredible air powered Porsche Boxter.

One of us actually got to drive the eBox from ACPropulsion previously covered on this blog as well as the electric Mini from Hybrid technologies.  Both cars were fun to drive.  Even though they conceptually the same, the drove and felt differently.

If you live in the LA area, Nick will be on CBS talking about his Alfa Romeo Spider conversion.  The clip should be online Monday.

Last thoughts, we can talk about electric vehicles, EV all we want, explain them, dissect them but nothing compares to actually driving them.  It’s akin to telling a blind men what the color blue is.  You have to drive one to understand what it is, feels and how it drives.

We will post pictures of GM’s Volt, the eBox, and interesting other concepts and prototype as we go through them later on today.  So check back.
